11/10- incredible staff, amazing facility, great location literally seconds away from Roman ruins, and a great stay. Staff: I’ve stayed at some amazing hotels but the staff here (6/21/23) was the most welcoming, nicest, and most helpful. Better than the Ritz, Four Seasons, etc. The gentleman working the front desk was fantastic and it’s such a great way to start your stay. Also given that Lyon is a restaurant city, they do ga e great recommendations ready if you need them. Facility: this used to be a nunnery, and it shows in all the best ways - elegant courtyard, beautiful architecture. The rooms are nice, larger than the photos, showers are great (powerful water pressure). The restaurant is fantastic - best breakfast I have had while traveling in a while. Location: it may be less than a 60 second walk to the beautiful Roman ruins. You can read there, then walk 2 more minutes to the basilica church that overlooks the entire city.

We loved the location and building being set in a quiet part of Lyon. The hotel has been beautifully decorated with slightly more retro touches which we liked. The spa facility was very much welcomed after a busy day exploring Lyon. We really enjoyed the pool even during the heavy rain. Breakfast was very good too and actually good value for money. Only point I would raise the scrambled eggs could be less runny. We opt for other things instead so did not have any eggs in the end with plenty of other options on offer. Rooms on the 2 floor slightly too hot so would recommend to request a room on the first floor instead with higher ceiling. Overall experience was a pleasant one and would come back again.

We LOVED the stunning art on show in the hotel and the beautiful interiors. We arrived after a 16 hour drive from London, exhausted with two tired, hot dogs. The hotel had preprared dog bows, treats and dog blanket - the cutest. The hotel managed to squeeze us in for last orders in the restaurant and the food was excellent, service brilliant and we had drinks in the cloisters courtyard afterwards. Followed by a walk under the stars and a peak over the hotel's garden wall across the beautiful city of Lyon. In the morning I discovered Roman ruins next to the hotel in the form of an old amphitheatre and the Notre Dame Cathedral which has to be one of the most beautiful I have seen.

I have reviewed this hotel many times as I stay here often. There was an incredible booking mess up between Booking.com and the hotel, which could have left us without accommodation for 3 days. The management starting with Kevin, pulled this around with a mixture of quick thinking and listening. It could have ended up a lot worse. First they provided dinner for all of us including our guests, then managed to get us into another hotel, that was unacceptable so we booked into something better and they covered the costs. They then miracle a room for the further two nights.

Quality hotel in an old building round a large courtyard, with an outdoor pool and fine indoor wellness area (turkish sauna hot-tub etc. no Finnish sauna). The public areas are impressive and decorated with style, the rooms are simple and calm. Location is great on the hill next to the roman amphitheater and roman museum in a very plesant a quite area. There is a funicular a short walk away (2 mins) down to the old town which is part of the public transport system and a great way to explore the old centre, without staying in the busy old town.
